Who We Are
PokerSites.org is an independent review publication that has covered the online poker industry since 2004. The site launched the year the online poker boom peaked — when a 27-year-old accountant named Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker Main Event after qualifying through a $40 satellite — and has continued to publish through every major shift since: Black Friday, the state-by-state US re-regulation wave, and the mobile-first rebuild of the industry.

What We Cover
PokerSites.org reviews licensed online poker rooms and publishes guides that help recreational and semi-professional players make informed decisions about where to play. Coverage falls into four broad buckets:
Operator reviews. Every poker room the site recommends is tested by a member of the review team using a real-money account. Reviewers deposit their own funds, play a minimum of 20 hours across cash games and tournaments, test customer support at off-hours, and process at least one withdrawal before a review is published. Geographic guides. The site maintains detailed guides for jurisdictions where online poker is legal and regulated, including the United States (state-by-state), Canada (province-by-province), the United Kingdom, and Australia. Legal status changes frequently, so each guide carries a "last verified" date and links to the relevant regulator.
Strategy content. Strategy guides are written by contributors with demonstrable playing backgrounds — published tournament results, verifiable cash-game win rates, or coaching credentials. The site does not publish "AI-generated strategy content" or rewrites of copy already ranking elsewhere.
News and industry analysis. The news desk covers operator launches, regulatory decisions, major tournament results, and security incidents. Breaking items are filed under the Editorial Team byline and reviewed by a named senior editor within 48 hours.
Our Editorial Team
The review team combines working poker players and former gambling regulatory professionals. Readers can find the full masthead — including credentials, playing history, and areas of expertise — on the writers page.
Every byline on PokerSites.org belongs to a real person. The site does not use pseudonymous contributors or purchased articles, and AI-assisted drafting is never used on review pages or strategy content. Where AI tools are used at any stage of production (for example, to generate a content outline or to check grammar), this is disclosed in the relevant article.
How PokerSites.org Makes Money
PokerSites.org is an affiliate publication. When a reader clicks through to a licensed operator from a review or bonus page and subsequently deposits, the site may earn a one-time referral fee or an ongoing share of the operator's revenue from that player's activity.
Affiliate relationships do not influence review ratings or rankings. The site publishes reviews of operators with whom it has no commercial relationship, and it has pulled operators from its recommended lists while still holding active affiliate agreements. History
PokerSites.org registered the pokersites.org domain in 2004 and has operated continuously under the same ownership since. Over 22 years, the site has published more than 1,400 reviews, news items, strategy guides, and legal explainers.
